About Niemeyer Family Farms Bowling Green, MO
Niemeyer Family Farms has deep-seated roots in the agricultural industry, dating back to the pioneering efforts of their grandfather, Frank Niemeyer in the 1940s. Frank, a visionary patriarch, came into the agribusiness world by establishing both an equipment company and a fertilizer plant, laying the groundwork for the family's farming legacy.
Over the next 20 years, Frank and four of his sons diligently managed both businesses alongside a thriving farming operation, setting a standard of excellence ahead of its time. When Frank passed in 1969, the torch was handed to his four sons who split the operations. Two of his sons, Victor and Fred, went into farming for themselves along with their new families.
Niemeyer Family Tree
Tim was born to Victor in 1965 and Steve to Fred in 1966. They grew up like brothers due to the close-knit farms and families. In the face of challenges during the agricultural downturn of the 1980s, Tim and Steve emerged as resilient stewards of the land. Tim, recognized as the Outstanding Young Farmer of Missouri in 1995, took off on his own farming journey, while Steve gained five invaluable years working in the grain industry after graduating from the University of Missouri in 1988.
Tim married Monica in 1992, and they have two children, Kaitlyn (married to Jeff) and Ethan (married to Kerri). Kaitlyn and Jeff are raising their two sons, Tate and Carter, while Ethan and Kerri have a son, Miles. Jeff and Ethan work full-time on the family farm, while Kaitlyn and Kerri work in the agricultural industry.
Steve married Leslie in 1997 after returning to the family farm full-time in 1994. They have two children, Rachael and Cole. Rachel will attend Mizzou this year, while Cole is in high school.
S & T Farms
In 1994, S & T Farms was formed with 500 acres of rented land. Each year the farm grew and, in 2002, made a substantial increase to 8,000 acres. Growth has continued through the years and surpassed 16,000 acres by 2022. S & T Farms has remained a part of Niemeyer Family Farms as we've grown.
